Thank you so much for your article on quiltinomics. I have ran in to this problem so many times. I have sold a few quilts and everyone has been happy with their purchase however price is a big issue. My last sale was for a memory t shirt quilt. When I delivered it one of my clients friends was upset over the cost. I notice her ears where adorned with beautiful diamonds not just one but many (no judgement). I explained that I had a history with jewelry and know what the markup is. She was proud of her jewelry and went on to tell me how many pieces she had. When she saw on the receipt that I charged my client $10 an hour she was shocked. People think nothing of paying as much as 500% markup for something only they can enjoy. It really put in perspective for her and my client So much so they they both placed orders with me again. Although we may never get the price our quilts deserve I feel I will not lower my price for good quality for the sake of a sale and as for those that do you hurt everyone in the long run yourselves included
