VLOG: Sew & Tell July 2015

For several years, I’ve enjoyed watching other people vlog on YouTube about everything from DIY projects, beauty tutorials, product reviews, and hauls.

Yesterday a friend and I were discussing the changing nature of video entertainment. No longer do you have to have cable and sit in front of the TV waiting for a specific show to come on. Instead, you can watch your favorite shows online on your schedule.

Media consumers are now able to pinpoint content tailored to their interests, and are no longer limited to content from a powerhouse production company or major TV network.

Thanks to YouTube, anyone can create their own channel and share whatever kind of content they wish to produce. There are quite a few channels I subscribe to and watch regularly. Who ever thought this would be a reality, right???

For a long time, I’ve had an interest in doing this myself – and finally created a MooreApproved YouTube channel recently. I’ve been highly enjoying shooting videos on our new camera and playing with our editing software – Sony Vegas Pro.  So in addition to blogging and writing occasional articles (couple in the works now…) I will produce more videos about various topics. James is also interested in doing this with me.

Admittedly, I’m still getting used to being in front of the camera. It’s more difficult than it looks! But the only path to improvement is lots of practice.

That’s what I like about having a website and various platforms – you can talk about whatever you want!

I thought it would be fun to do a monthly vlog about my sewing projects – what I’m working on, what I’ve completed, etc… The name of this segment is ‘Sew & Tell.’ Here’s the first one!

See you next time!

– Jennifer
